Embedded Screws

Where they have become rusted into wood or metal, carefully place 2 drops of olive oil around the screw and heat the screw-head with the very hot end of a file. The heat makes the screw expand and the cooling that follows causes it to contract and free itself.

POLISHING

The oldest polish is beeswax. Shred the beeswax into a bowl, pour in turpentine, and place the bowl in a pan of hot water (never over a naked flame) until the mixture melts. Remove from heat and keep in a closed tin. It should be the consistency of softish butter.
